New York

Is it possible to be in love with somebody you’ve never even met? Okay, maybe it’s not a person, and maybe it’s extremely over-idolized to the point of inanity. Similarly to people who feel like they’ve been born in the wrong body, I feel like I have a geological identity crisis. The irony is that some of you will be reading this from my purported future home. New York is the Caput Mundi, let’s be real. Every other city tries to emulate NYC: Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, London, Paris, Vancouver, Mumbai… Here is a study done by NYU highlighting the similarities and differences of other world cities compared to NYC. It’s the city so nice they named it twice for a reason. Yes, there are many downfalls, and jokes about a mass exodus, but who, I ask, is not charmed by the sight of a cute wittew rat from time to time? Ever seen An American Tail? Okay, even the rats leave New York in that film, but that’s beside the point. There is no reason that I have to convince you that New York is a place that I see myself living, so I’ll leave it here. Maybe I’ll bump into you on the L Train…
