See Like Me Rare Issue
Back in September 2009 I was possessed by a notion that I had to do something with all the time I didn’t have. Naturally, I was consumed by a project that would take 3 consecutive months, 147 emails, and a partridge in a pear tree. I performed intensive research, looking for the best photographers, artists, and interesting people that would be contacted in an attempt to bring together something rare. The concept was simple: to celebrate a paper one year anniversary of See Like Me by creating something tangible in case the internet blew up. It evolved, however. I wanted to collaborate with photographers, artists, and talented people far and near via submissions, interviews, and various forms of expression. I believed together we could create something rare: a DIY publishing experience with as much effort on my end as there was on the other. The final product is here, and has been brought to you free of charge. Before I officially present See Like Me’s Rare Issue, however, I’d just like to mention that I hope you don’t completely take advantage of three months of hard work. If you enjoy the issue, I proffer you give something back, whether it be spreading the word or buying your own copy. All proceeds will go towards maintaining this site and future collaborations that I hope will be possible. Plus it looks so much better in print! Thank you for one great year!
