Iris Strubegger + Vogue Italia

Voilà Iris Strubegger, the man. Unfortunately, I have nothing nice to say about this editorial. I am to understand that the shoes are pretty cool? Mikael Jansson shoots… her, for Vogue Italia. These just take butch to the next level. The whole spike do’ screams the “d” word circa 2001 when it was really cool to have that haircut. I thought I was alone, but it’s comments like these ones that back me up: “No one does tough and sexy like Iris Strubegger”. Or, “What is disturbing is she really looks like a man, both with her face and her large shoulders and small breasts… But I guess it was intentional since it’s blatant.” Blatant or not, I’m a bit bored of the whole Iris-gone-tough thing. I haven’t exactly seen her appear like a female in any editorial to date. It’s really great how she can rock a pixie cut with a boa constrictor around her neck. The best part is probably how they misspelled the title of the editorial and called it “Variations on Chic”. Nice try, though.
