This Used to Be My Playground + Terry Gates

It probably won’t be too long before this gets around town, if you know what I mean. But once in a blue moon, The Ones 2 Watch actually features some killer new talent and dashing editorials. Terry Gates’ photography is a bit refreshing, in that he put a wet-haired model beside an indigenous looking Mexican holding a talley of Coke. I don’t know about you, but to me that just oozes creativity. Juxtaposition? Is that what it’s called? Anyway, This Used to Be My Playground is a compelling variation on simplicity. “I’m inspired by passionate, determined and creative people. I love the work of and am influenced by Inez and Vinoodh, Steven Meisel, Guy Bourdin, Helmut Newton and pretty much any photo that makes you feel something” / Terry Gates
