25 Magazine is a new publication created by model couple Anja Rubik & Sasha Knezevic. It’s launched with some very privileged content, such as editorials with Abbey-Lee Kershaw, Karlie Kloss, Eniko Mihalik, Kasia Struss, and an interview with Beyoncé. The videos are also spectacular, such as this one called Ghosts of Gustav Klimt with Eniko.
Having said that, I’m very disappointed with the publication. The grammar is a complete wreck. Here is an example of literally one of many horrendous mistakes: “Every time I founded myself trying…” (taken from this article). In their interview with Beyoncé, the grammar is embarrassing, even to read. Beyoncé apparently responded to one of the questions by saying, “This comparison fell into my heart.” What?! Please let me know if I’m missing something here besides a headache at the atrocious grammar crimes committed by the surely less-than-qualified writers commissioned to write for 25. Besides the grammar, the magazine was named for it’s supposed target market, people aged 25 plus (proof here). Oddly enough, one of the articles is aptly named “it sucks to be a teen these days”, obviously penned by a teen as well. And the title, all in lowercase, wasn’t a mistake on my part, yikes! The article, about the Twilight phenomenon, is positive to arouse interest in all the 25 and older crowd no doubt. The design I won’t get into here, for fear that this train wreck of a magazine will somehow collapse with a destroyed ego. I’ll leave you to make your own judgements, so feel free to head to their site. In the interim I will continue to offer 25 magazine my copy editing skills, but not before I grab a Tylenol…
