The Business of Fashion Scans

Fashion Scanning is risky business. Stealing content from high profile magazines is pretty hefty of a violation. However, the benefits to us randomly surfing the web and chancing upon awesome content we don’t want to pay for really leaves no downside. With that being said, here are some great sites dedicated to fashion scanning:

1 Modeldom is probably my favourite. I’m not sure what they’re doing is illegal, but their content hardly dissapears and they have somewhat of an interesting collection of fashion material.

2 Fashion Scans blog is dedicated to scanning adequate material as well, but usually the photos aren’t very editorial.

3 Hellis Fashion Scans is top notch for great content. The huge issue with this site, however, is that the scans have a tendency to “dissapear”, so don’t invest too much in counting on your favourite image being there tomorrow, or the next day. A huge problem with all hotlinking (taking content such as images from a site without permission from the site hosting the content) is that some sites have protection of their images and so they might not be around as long as intentionally thought. This site may run into that problem from time to time. But any post that I see with that problem will be deleted so as to keep up with the quality. My view, however, is that if the content is free and easy to access on one site, why can’t it be the same on another with a backtrack link provided back to Mother Hostess?

Last, but certainly not least, as a quick search for Fashion Scanning will result in more great blogs than just posted here, I’ll finish off with 4 The Black Pit whose fashion scans of great imagery and celeb photography provides a great time to peruse and cruise for your fashion muse. How was that for a-little-ration?
